Angelina is an Aboriginal woman from Brisbane. She is the daughter of Aboriginal visual artist Ron Hurley. Her heritage is of Jagara, Mununjali, Gooreng Gooreng, Birri Gubbi and Kamilaroi descent. Angelina has worked in the areas of Indigenous Arts, Education and Community Cultural Development for over 25 years across all art forms including visual arts, music, literature, and the performance arts.
She holds a Bachelor Education and a Masters in Arts Management, and is currently undertaking a Doctorate of Creative Arts through the University of Technology, Sydney. She is also an emerging writer, who in 2011 was awarded the Australian-American Fulbright Commission’s Indigenous Scholarship, which took her to Tisch School of Art at New York University.
